Parent-child relationship is unique and a very special one at that. You can just about be of any age with them. And as they grow older, they tend to become more like children and then a role reversal of sorts takes place.Questions like "Did you take your multi-vitamin?or Did you go to the dentist? What, you didn't....maa please don't ignore it...."so on so forth. But wait a minute, they give a call and we happen to be ill, then the next couple of days are going to be of queries and advice."Did you take your antibiotics?Have enough milk when you have antibiotics....they generate lot of heat in the body" History repeats,I guess.Nobody in the world can give abundant love like a mother gives to her child. We can just about be grateful for such a love that only a mother can give. Thanks Shubham for your article.

Nice post, Basu. Thanks for sharing it.

I agree with the ending note that we should retain the same energy/enthusiasm to encourage our parents no matter how old they/we get. But the things that change with age are subtler. I have realized that you should not pester your parents after a certain age (when you pester its usually only for your own benefit, if you think carefully). Rather one should "try" and step into their shoes and think of what "might" be good for them and then encourage them to do so. And not too much. This is easier said than done and you tend to fall back to your old ways. Personally I take it like a challenge, one of the many I have been taking and growing up at the same time. I just tell myself again - it's okay if I fail in some of these challenges, otherwise I might end up pestering all over again.
